Back to the 'Noke

Well, another weekend has come and gone. And, the summer is just flying! (Make it stop!) Andy and I headed to Roanoke on Friday evening. He hadn't been to Roanoke since January, and I hadn't been since April. It was nice to get back for a visit.

On Saturday morning, we met my stepmother, Carla, for breakfast at The Roanoker. It was great to see her again. (It had been more than a year.) We spent a few hours catching up, and promised not to let so much time go by without getting together.

On Saturday afternoon, Mom, Andy, and I hung out by the pool, and then Casey, John, and Liliana came over for a few hours. Liliana had a grand time. She loved the water, and was pretty fascinated by the Coop-man. Here are some pictures.

On Saturday evening, Mom, Wade, Andy, Ann, Barbara, and I went to dinner at Frankie Rowland's for Barbara's birthday. Our food was really, really good. I think Frankie Rowland's is the best place in Roanoke I've ever eaten. It was Morton's-quality food. Here are some pictures we took before dinner.

Here is a picture of me and Ann with our frou-frou drinks - a Pineappletini and a Key Lime Martini.

After dinner, Andy, Ann, and I stopped at Metro for a few drinks. I was driving, so I sipped on some water. Ann and Andy enjoyed some more frou-frou drinks (Ann) and bourbon (Andy), and proceeded to get into lively discussions on numerous topics. I interjected when I could. The people-watching at the bar was fabuloso, making for some interesting conversation, too.

Ann hosted breakfast at her townhouse on Sunday morning. Everything was yummy! She did a great job. Her little home is adorable, too.

All of us spent Sunday afternoon at the pool. John, Casey, and Liliana came over again. Casey let me know that she's definitely in for the girls' trip to Paris in October! There will be four of us - Ann, me, Steph, and Casey. Oh la la...can't wait!

That's all for now! I'm out.
